3M Scotchprint Wrap Film Series 1080 is a dual cast film specifically designed to provide dimensional stability and durability without the need for an over laminate. The pressure-activated adhesive allows you to slide and reposition the film until you apply firm pressure. The non-visible air release channels assure a fast, easy and virtually bubble-free installation. Available in 60″ wide sheet, allowing almost any section of a vehicle to be wrapped without seams. This material can be used on the interior or exterior of your vehicle.
It can cover any smooth surface. It will wrap dash parts, mirrors, trim, or the whole exterior of the vehicle. Great for standard vehicle graphics, detailing and decoration,commercial vehicle and fleet graphics, and emblems or striping.

The demos at SGIA 2010 were the first time that I got my hands on the new film 1080. For me to test it out for the first time, while doing live demos was a bit crazy, but the film feels very familiar and is nice to work with. Anybody who has experience laying vinyl laminated IJ180Cv3 will feel right at home, with no unexpected issues.
The biggest benefit that I see right off the bat is for the independent installers that currently outsource print and lam work, or shops that experience issues printing large runs of solid color with tight consistency.
Now that vehicle wrap has broken into the customization market, even the single solid color changes are getting to be in higher demand. Matte finish is hands-down the big craze right now, and the new 1080 will be the better option rather than running the risk of print banding or pressing a second layer of film to the install. The sample that impressed me most was the matte finish silver, because it’s a finish that I haven’t seen in wrap films yet, and it’s ready to apply right out of the box!
